✦ Your cosmic blueprint ✦
Birth Chart
A photograph of the sky at your first breath, read in human words. Your wheel, your Sun, Moon and Rising, and each planet in its sign, in a few short lines.
Your chart is drawn here in two minutes: no sign-up, no card. The complete reading written for you, the Keepsake, is optional and paid once: it adds the deep readings (the parts marked “In the Keepsake”), the printable PDF and the framed chart.
01 · The basics
What is a birth chart?
A birth chart, also called a natal chart, is a map of exactly where every planet stood in the zodiac at the moment and place you were born. It is astrology’s most personal document: no one else has your chart.
The sign most people know: where the Sun stood at your birth. It describes your essential self, your vitality, your purpose, and the light you are here to shine. It changes signs roughly every 30 days.
Where the Moon stood at your birth: your emotional nature, your instincts, and what you need to feel safe. The Moon changes signs every two and a half days, which is why a birth date alone can sit on a boundary.
The sign climbing over the eastern horizon at your exact birth moment: the face you show the world and the lens you see it through. It shifts every two hours, which is why your birth time matters so much.

Reading your birth chart
How to read your birth chart
Start with the big three, Sun, Moon and rising, because together they sketch the outline of a personality: who you are, how you feel, and how you meet the world. Then move through the personal planets: Mercury shows how you think and speak, Venus how you love and what you value, Mars how you act and assert. Jupiter and Saturn describe how you grow and where life asks discipline of you. The outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, move so slowly that they colour whole generations, which is why their sign placements speak to the times you were born into as much as to you personally. The twelve houses then tell you where in your life each planet does its work, and the aspects tell you how your planets talk to each other.
Why your birth time matters
The rising sign changes every two hours, so an accurate birth time is the difference between a complete birth chart and a partial one. Most birth certificates record the time; a parent’s memory is the next best source. If the time truly cannot be found, your Sun, planets and elemental balance are still fully accurate; only the rising sign, the houses and the Moon’s exact degree carry uncertainty. Astrologers have worked with untimed charts for centuries (Britannica’s history of astrology traces the practice back over two thousand years), so an unknown birth time is a smaller obstacle than it feels.
Living with your chart
A birth chart is a starting portrait, not a cage. The sky keeps moving, and how today’s sky touches your natal placements is where astrology becomes a daily practice. Our moon phases guide shows where the Moon is right now, and the planetary retrogrades tracker shows which of your natal planets are being asked to review their lessons. Pair your placements with the crystals aligned to your signs, explore what the cards say about your heart with a free love tarot reading, or decode your daily pulls with the tarot combination tool. Your chart is the thread that ties all of it together.

Birth chart FAQ
A birth chart (natal chart) is a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment and place of your birth: the zodiac position of the Sun, Moon and every planet, plus the rising sign on the eastern horizon and the twelve houses. Astrologers read it as a portrait of your personality, needs and life themes.
Three things: your birth date, birth time and birth town. Date and town alone give you your Sun sign, all planetary placements, your nodes and your elemental balance. The exact time adds your rising sign, your Midheaven, your houses and the precise Moon degree. It is usually on your birth certificate.
With no sign-up, you see: the wheel, every position, the essence and keywords of each placement, your houses, the list of your aspects and patterns, and the explanation of each notion. What is marked “In the Keepsake”, sometimes shown blurred, is the paid reading. The Keepsake (a one-time purchase) adds the depth: full five-part readings for every placement, each planet read in its house, your karmic path, every aspect explained, Your Path written with your name, your year ahead with Jupiter and Saturn, journal questions, a printable book in PDF and a framed chart to hang on your wall. One Keepsake is made for one birth chart: one person, one birth date.
Yes. Planetary positions come from a professional-grade astronomy library (the same models behind observatory ephemerides) and were checked against NASA’s JPL ephemeris across birth dates from the 1800s to today. Chiron uses NASA/JPL Horizons data. Houses use the Placidus system, the standard in Western astrology, with the true lunar node.
Not for the chart calculated on this page: the whole calculation runs inside your own browser, and your birth date, time and town are not sent to a server, stored or shared. If you buy the Keepsake, your birth details are not sent to the payment page either. We then keep your email address, your purchase details and a short check number calculated from your birth date (not the date itself). Your chart itself is kept only if you tick “Keep my chart with my Keepsake”: it is then saved encrypted with your Keepsake so it reopens on any device. We never open it. All the details are in our privacy policy.
Start typing and pick your town from the list; it covers every town over 5,000 inhabitants worldwide. If yours is smaller, choose the nearest town in the same region, or enter your coordinates directly. For every placement except the rising sign and houses, location barely matters at all; a nearby town keeps those accurate in almost all cases.
Birth chart positions are computed from real orbital mechanics. Interpretations are astrological and spiritual in nature, intended for reflection, self-discovery and personal growth: a beautiful mirror, not a fixed destiny.
