How to calculate your Life Path number
Your Life Path number comes from your full date of birth. Reduce the month, the day, and the year each to a single digit (keeping 11 and 22 intact when they appear), then add the three results and reduce once more — preserving 11, 22, and 33 as master numbers. Someone born March 8, 1955 becomes 3 + 8 + 2 = 13 → 4: an Architect. The calculator above does all of this instantly and shows you every step of the reduction, so you can verify it by hand the traditional way.
Numerology’s nine-year rhythm
Numerology sees time moving in nine-year waves. The Universal Year — this year’s digits reduced to one number — sets the collective tone, while your Personal Year (your birth month and day added to the current year) tells you where you stand in your own cycle: a 1 year plants, a 5 year shakes, a 9 year releases. Knowing your year changes how you plan — you stop pushing a harvest in planting season. Pair it with the sky’s cycles too: the moon phases give the month its rhythm, and retrogrades mark seasons for revising rather than launching.

Numerology FAQ
Your Life Path number is numerology’s most important number — a single digit (or master number) derived from your full birth date. It describes your core purpose, natural gifts, and the recurring themes of your life’s journey. It never changes.
Reduce your birth month, day, and year each to a single digit (keeping 11 and 22 intact), then add the three numbers together and reduce the total once more — preserving 11, 22, and 33. The calculator on this page uses this traditional component method and shows every step.
Master numbers are double digits that are never reduced further because they carry an amplified vibration: 11 the Illuminator (intuition), 22 the Master Builder (large-scale manifestation), and 33 the Master Teacher (compassionate service). They’re considered both a gift and a heavier assignment.
The Universal Year is the current year’s digits reduced to one number — the tone of the collective, the same for everyone. Your Personal Year adds your birth month and day to the current year, placing you at your own point in the nine-year cycle. Both change every January 1st.
Deeply. The tarot’s Major Arcana are numbered 0–21 and each Minor Arcana card carries a number whose numerological meaning colors the card — Aces as beginnings (1), Nines as completion. Many readers use numerology to deepen every spread.
