Harvest Moon in Ariesa release ritual and one card
The Harvest Moon, the full moon closest to the autumn equinox, rises in Aries on Saturday, September 26, 2026 (16:50 UTC), wherever you are in the world. Aries wants you to put yourself first for one evening. Here is how, with a candle, a cloth and a single card.

Every full moon is a face-off: the Sun on one side of the sky, the Moon exactly opposite. This time the Sun sits in Libra, the sign of the other, of balance, of keeping the peace. The Moon answers from Aries, the sign of the self, of appetite, of the first step nobody gave you permission to take. That is the whole story of September 26: what you have been doing for everyone else, and what you have been quietly postponing for yourself.
A full moon does not need you to be dramatic. It needs one honest hour. This one is ready to use tonight or tomorrow night, with what you already own. If you have never done a moon ritual, start here: it is the simplest one on the site, and the card at the end does most of the work. You can check the exact phase any evening on our moon phase page.

The cards of this full moon
If one of them turns up in your draw tonight, the moon is being very clear.
The Emperor
Structure, decisions, the chair you finally sit in. Under an Aries moon, The Emperor asks a plain question: where have you handed the decision to someone else? Take it back, kindly, this week.

Warm, direct, magnetic. She is what self-first looks like when it is generous rather than selfish: a woman who knows what she wants and lights the room because of it, not despite it.

The other half of the sky. Justice reminds you that choosing yourself is not a crime against balance: it is what balance is made of. Weigh it, then act.

The Aries full moon ritual
1 · Light one thing
Turn off the overhead light. Light a candle, a wood-wick one if you have it: the first crackle is the bell that opens the ritual. Aries is a fire sign, so tonight the flame is the altar. Any candle you already own is perfect. If you want one for the occasion: in Canada I burn the Feu&Co Wood Fire; anywhere else, a wood-wick soy candle on Amazon gives the same crackle, and a drop of Living Libations frankincense on the wrists ships worldwide.
2 · Name what you carried
On paper, in one column, list what you did for other people this month. Do not judge it. Just look at the length of the list. That is your Libra side, and it is why you are tired.
3 · Name what you postponed
Second column: the things you kept saying “after”. A call, a boundary, a rest, a start. Circle one. Only one. Aries does not do lists; Aries does the first step.
4 · Say it to the mirror
Out loud, once, with the candle behind you: “This is mine, and I am taking it back.” If it feels ridiculous, good: that is the exact size of the habit you are breaking.
5 · Draw the card
Shuffle with the question “what will help me take the first step?” and draw one card. Read it as an ally, not a verdict. Write it beside your circled line and leave both on the nightstand until the new moon in Libra on October 10.
“The full moon is not asking you to burn anything down. It is asking you to stop apologizing for the fire.”Maude · SolsTarot

The Aries full moon is loud for a night and then it is gone. What stays is the line you circled. Check on it at the new moon in Libra on October 10, when the sky asks the opposite question: who do you want to do this with?
✦ Questions ✦
Harvest Moon in Aries, asked and answered
The Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumn equinox, which falls on September 23 in 2026. For a few nights it rises soon after sunset, which once gave farmers extra light to bring in the crops. In 2026 it is also a full moon in Aries, so the Harvest Moon ritual above is about harvesting for yourself: naming what you did for others, and taking one thing back.
The moon is exactly full on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 16:50 UTC. Convert that to your own time zone, but it hardly matters: the ritual works just as well on the evening of the 25th, the 26th or the 27th: the energy holds for about a day on either side.
Aries and Libra first, then Cancer and Capricorn, the other two cardinal signs. If your rising sign or your Moon is in one of these, the “me versus us” question will feel personal this week. Your birth chart shows you where.
Carnelian for courage, red jasper for grounding, and a piece of moonstone for the moon itself. Set one beside the candle. Our carnelian guide explains how to use it.
Then the moon has named the exact thing you were avoiding. The Tower, the Five of Pentacles, the Eight of Swords: at a full moon they read as endings that free a hand, not as warnings. Write the card down and be gentle with yourself.
